TOPIC: CycleOps PowerCal first impressions

CycleOps PowerCal first impressions 5 years, 3 months ago #27006

Hello All !!

I received my powercal this week, and went out and did a ride on a
bike where I have a powertap G3 hub.
My Edge 800 paired to the G3, and a 310XT paired to the PowerCal, I
hit the road and started collecting data.

My initial impressions were very positive, especially if you consider
the price, and if you realize that it is not meant as a power meter
replacement or competitor.
It is targeted not at replacing but at providing a better effort
indicator than heart rate alone, and having that in mind, I think it
does a good job at that

I wrote a detailed analysis at
teamrodrigo.com/2012/07/20/riding-with-cycleops-powercal/

For ride details:

and

Anyone out there tried PowerCal yet? any impressions about it?

can you provide a link to the manufacturer's site that provides information on the product?

How much did you pay for the product?

thanks,
